On Saturday, we went to the San Diego Wild Animal Park. We had a great time exploring and seeing animals in their natural environments. We took a great "journey to Africa safari tour" and saw gazelles, rhinos, giraffes, oryx, cheetahs and zebras roaming around. (I know there were some more animals, but I cannot remember their names!). We also went to a bird show and another animal show where we got to see some animals up close and personal. We were very impressed with the wild animal park and could have stayed much longer - but our kids were just done! So we hope to go back in a few years so we can see even more!

petting an axis deer...

Beth was brave enough to feed a deer!

A lorikeet - very pretty, but extremely LOUD!

This baby gibbon was swinging all over its enclosure. It was very entertaining. Nathan thought we should get one for a pet. I calmly disagreed!

My two explorers, just before our safari tour.

at the Lion Camp...

This is a HUGE cheetah. It can go from 0-30 miles per hour in just 3.4 seconds. Amazing! Here it is licking what looks like a popsicle, only the trainer said it was a "bloodsicle." Yuck!

They have many beautiful birds at the Wild Animals Park. We saw this egret on our way to the exit. The reflection in the water is actually clearer than the real bird!
