Week in Review

My apologies for the recent absence of blog posts! Life is a bit busier since I'm working and I don't always have the time (or inclination) to sit down and blog. But since this blog is a scrapbook of sorts, I wanted to give a brief update of the past week!

The weather has been absolutely beautiful lately. It doesn't feel at all like mid-November! It was actually in the 80's yesterday. Phil and I worked in the yard this weekend and tackled the mess in the garage. The kids have been playing outside as much as possible - from the moment they get home until it's too dark to see anything outside. We've been shooting a lot of baskets, jumping rope, playing in the fort, riding scooters, swinging, playing golf, etc.... It's such a blessing to live in a cul-de-sac! They play in the front with the neighbor girls so often and I don't have to worry too much about them.

"camping out" in Nathan's tent

In the evenings, the girls have been spending most of their time playing "school" or reading. They are recording minutes for the "Book-it" program to earn free pizzas at Pizza Hut. Nathan is very eager to read and is constantly pointing to words and asking me to tell him what they are. So, I've been reading a lot of books to him too!

Phil took the girls to the CVC football game on Friday night. I think they expected it to be colder in the evening! The girls had a great time playing with their friends (and maybe watching a few moments of football) while Phil was able to sit and enjoy the game. CVC won in the last minute - of course, after they had left!
