All Good Things Must Come to an End

For three years, Nathan has been sucking on his fingers. They have provided comfort and security whenever he was unsure, frightened or tired. Nathan took this habit of his very seriously. At times, we could even hear him sucking on his sweet little fingers in our bedroom . He often left teeth marks from biting down on them! Since our girls both had pacifiers when they were little, this was a new challenge for us. You just can't take their fingers away! But we knew it was time to help Nathan break this habit. So, with the help of a friend, we discovered a product designed to help children stop sucking their thumbs or fingers. And, within a day or two, Nathan didn't even attempt to put his fingers in his mouth. (This picture, taken two weeks ago, is the last picture I'll ever have of him with his fingers in his mouth). We are so proud of him. But, I have to admit, there is a little part of me that is sad to say goodbye to this stage in his life. It is just another reminder that he is growing up. Why do they have to grow up so quickly?

Hi Teri,

This is Jen's friend, Amy-the one whose son sucked his fingers. It's a little sad to let them go, huh? I'm glad it worked for you, though! Congrats. :)
